Job Requirements – Tree Climber / Production Climber
We’re looking for skilled, safety-minded climbers who can lead work at height and set the tone for the crew below them. You should already be comfortable in the tree, confident with rigging, and ready to work at a professional production pace without cutting corners on safety.
Key Requirement
Proven Climbing Ability and a Safety-First Mindset
The climber drives production on every removal and pruning job. You’ll be trusted to plan your climb, rig safely, and make clean, precise cuts—leading the crew from the canopy and delivering fast, safe, and professional results on every job site.
Must-Haves
- Proven experience climbing and working at height (SRT/DdRT/spurs as appropriate)
- Skilled with rigging, lowering systems, and controlled speed-lining
- Confident and safe operating a chainsaw aloft and on the ground
- Valid driver’s license and reliable commute to/from the shop and job sites
- Physically fit (lifting 50+ lbs, working outdoors full-time in all weather)
- Dependable and consistently punctual with a positive attitude
- Team-first attitude with professionalism on every job site
- Ability to pass a background check
Bonus Points (Preferred but not required)
- ISA Certified Arborist or working toward certification
- CDL Certification (Class A preferred)
- Experience with crane-assisted removals
- Aerial rescue training
- Safety certifications (First Aid/CPR)
- Interest in growing into a foreman or crew lead role over time
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)

As a Production Climber, you’ll lead the technical, at-height work that defines every job—executing removals and pruning safely, efficiently, and professionally while growing your career every day.
Daily Operations
- Assess each tree and plan the safest, most efficient climb and rigging approach
- Perform removals, pruning, and technical cuts at height to professional standards
- Set and manage rigging and lowering systems in coordination with the ground crew
- Direct ground crew on drop zones, rigging, and cleanup throughout the job
- Attend pre-job briefings and represent the company with professionalism
🔐 Safety & Site Awareness
- Adhere to all local and company safety protocols
- Lead and participate in daily hazard assessments and safety briefings
- Inspect climbing gear, ropes, and saddles before every use and remove damaged equipment from service
- Maintain tools and equipment in safe, working condition
- Wear required PPE (helmet, eye/ear protection, chaps, climbing gear) at all times
📲 Communication & Documentation
- Log work hours accurately
- Complete and review safety and job documentation (JSA forms, assessments)
- Communicate clearly with the ground crew and crew lead throughout each job
- Direct client questions to supervisors professionally
- Attend required trainings or team meetings
